The midyear business review of Asiapro was held at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig City. The 3-day affair was attended by invited members, heads from all departments, units and branches of Asiapro Cooperative. It was a much awaited event as the midyear performance updates and balance of the year forecast from various groups were presented.

Chairman Ed Castañeda discussed Zig Ziglar’s three pillars of the “Better than Good” performance: passion, peak performance and purpose. He added that Asiapro’s slogan “we work better” means what is best today may not be best tomorrow, so everyone is expected to work better everyday in order to excel.

Gary Quemado, President and General Manager, opened with a simple yet significant question, “Does Asiapro remain to be relevant? Is Asiapro truly serving the needs of its clients and members?” According to Mr. Quemado, the most important component is KNOWLEDGE – understanding not only what the clients and members want but why they need Asiapro’s services. This can be achieved by interfacing with the clients and members.

Asiapro’s founder, Leo Parma, explained the reason behind the name “Asiapro”. Right from the start, the cooperative aimed to operate not only in the Philippines but throughout ASIA. It also intended to provide PROfessional services and greater PROductivity. Mr. Parma also supported Mr. Quemado’s message by emphasizing the value of keeping commitments and continue improving productivity as other means of being relevant. The cooperative should also strive to provide better solutions and innovations, and offering what others cannot.

At the end of the event, participants brought home with them the question “Are we still relevant in our mission to our clients, members and community?”
